Mechanical Polishing

polishing

Mechanical polishing is a hand sanding process used to remove scratches, gouges and other damage from the surface of materials using various forms of abrasive media. The media is applied to the surface using hand held power equipment resulting in surfaces compliant with ASME-BPE surface finish standards. UltraClean technicians will never use polishing compounds in our sanitary finishing processes to achieve the required surface finish.UltraClean’s confined space trained personnel brings our expertise to your site utilizing our skills to properly prepare degraded material surfaces for sanitary process applications. We can provide a factory replicated surface to meet or exceed those received on the original equipment when purchased new.

Our highly trained experts take every precaution to keep grinding dust to a minimum by using dust containment equipment and follow the process with a thorough rinsing procedure to assure your equipment is clean and ready for use upon our departure.

Upon completion of the mechanical process, the equipment can either be put back into service with just the mechanical finish or is prepared for field electropolishing, dependent upon the customers finish requirements.

Even vessels in the worst condition can be saved or even upgraded in a fraction of the time and typically at considerable cost savings over replacement. Equipment can be upgraded with our field electropolishing process allowing customers to take advantage of capitol expenditure tax breaks offered on equipment upgrades.
